In six years, he has built a global network of waste management systems that has recovered almost 35,000 tonnes of plastic waste and has been backed by more than 400 brand partners.

Joel's path into the plastics space wasn't a conventional one. By his own account, he wasn't an environmentalist when he started CleanHub. He was simply someone who loved the outdoors, from skiing in the Austrian Alps to sailing and swimming. It was years of travel and surfing, and repeatedly confronting plastic pollution on coastlines around the world, that pushed him to dedicate his career to keeping plastic out of the ocean.

Czech Food.

While in Prague, be sure to try goulash (a rich beef stew with spices), Knedlíky (steamed bread or potato dumplings, the classic side dish), and Smažený sýr (breaded fried cheese). Pair them with a Czech beer – Pilsner Urquell is one of the country’s best-known brands.
